1.If you choose to use marble flooring in your formal dining room, you want to make certain that the floor isn’t completely covered up with a rug or a large square dining table. For that reason, an oblong table is recommended, if there is room for it. Make sure to use matching chairs as well. If you have French doors, use some drapes that hang from the ceiling to really create a dramatically elegant look in your formal dining room.

2.If you have a quadrilateral dining room and want to add comfort to your formal dining room yet still have a rich atmosphere, you may want to look into getting an armless sofa and cushioned chairs. With the right upholstery, this can turn a dull dining room into a glamorous area to host dinner parties, and don’t forget the silk and/or sheer drapes over the windows.

3.If you are looking to create a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere for your formal dining room, choose a large formal dining room table in a dark color. The best color you could choose is espresso, as it creates the ambiance you are looking for while maintaining a formal feel to the room. Add a romantic and upscale flair with high back chairs.
