For example, having a bar with small bar stools rather than a couch will save on space but not on function.

There are many different options that outdoor patio furniture comes in. These materials include: wood, wicker, aluminum or iron. To determine what material is best for you, consider three important factors: weather, maintenance and looks. Certain materials are better used in wetter climates such as wood or aluminum whereas wicker will not last long. Maintenance is also an important factor to consider because certain items take more time to care for. For example, aluminum and teak do not require much upkeep.
